Scotchtown Rack Card (back)
This is a rack card I redesigned a little while ago for Scotchtown, which is the home of the American Revolution orator Patrick Henry. Scotchtown is one of the few historic landmarks in Virginia, along with Colonial Williamsburg and Historic Jamestowne. Preservation Virgina is the organization that keeps up these sites and what they’ve done over the years to preserve Virginia’s history is amazing! I used their signature blue and gray as the main colors for the rack card and placed etched images over it to give it more of a colonial look. With the translucent white bars over the etchings, I makes the background resemble wallpaper in an old house. To keep the vintage scheme, I chose fonts from the Garamond family and used Zapfino to give the name Scotchtown some flare. The images used were provided by Preservation Virginia. All in all, I think it looks pretty cool and current.
